Is it OK if only boys are allowed?

In one of the games, Lex showed the children a poster for a school trip to the zoo. There is a note on the poster saying only boys are allowed. We asked them if they thought this was okay.

Almost all of the children (94%) said “No” – this was not okay.

Why would this be wrong?

Here’s what some of the children said about why they thought it was wrong:

“Because girls have the same rights as boys – just because they are a different gender doesn’t mean they should be treated any differently.” (Girl, Year 5)

“Because girls have the right to go on school trips as well.” (Boy, Year 5)

“Because boys and girls are equal.” (Girl, Year 4)
